For more than 20 years, Sámi reindeer herders at Fosen have fought Europe's largest wind farm, built in the middle of their most important grazing land. When the Supreme Court rules that the turbines violate Sámi human rights, there is hope they will be torn down. But the government refuses to remove them, and young Sámi respond by mobilising.

Håvard Bustnes' documentary had its world premiere at CPH:DOX in Copenhagen in March and opens in Norwegian cinemas on 9 October. Tynset gets it a month early, and the director will be here in person.

The Fosen case is not just something that happened somewhere else. Håmmålsfjellet and Sålekinna in Os and Tolga have been identified as possible replacement grazing land for the Fosen reindeer. That is why we invite you to a panel discussion right after the film.

Sangen fra skogene

As a young boy, Vincent Munier learned to cherish nature from his father. Now Vincent's own son is the same age, and three generations head into the dense forests of France to see birds, deer and lynx up close. Grandfather's great favourite is the capercaillie, which has disappeared from the French forests. So that the grandson can see one, they travel to Norway.

Munier is one of the world's foremost nature photographers. The film is marked by calm and wonder, and reminds us how much joy nature gives us, and how important it is to look after it.

Drapet på Benjamin Hermansen

One winter night at Holmlia, Oslo, in 2001, 15-year-old Benjamin loses his life, killed by 19-year-old Joe Erling — solely because of the colour of his skin. A year later, Benjamin's mother Marit sits through the trial of the man who killed her son. Through flashbacks, two fates are woven together: Benjamin grows up with friends and a mother who looks after him, while Joe Erling drifts into the neo-Nazi Boot Boys scene.

25 years after the killing, this is a story we still need to tell — about racism, loss and the hope of reconciliation. The film opens in Norwegian cinemas on 2 October. The festival shows it first.
